^ I know what you mean but...
...it was the fact that it was an oasis of musty, rickety, lo-budget, lo-fi, has-been TV from a different era — surrounded by a desert of cynically wham-bam visual-led bubblegum pseudo-science progs with no content (like what Horizon became) — itself that made me love it.
It was technically unapologetically crap as a TV programme, but still authoritative and accessible to all. Something very old school British about that.
And the Sibelius was on the money! :)
