USually businesses get into trouble for treating independent contractor's like employees. The result is that they have to pay the employees taxes. In this case they're paying the taxes. If he's working full-time, and is truly an employee, he should be receiving healthcare. I hope he's making a high enough rate (competitive with other freelancers in his market) so that he can afford health insurance on his own.
