ASUS would be tops of the mid-grade bracket in my opinion. Nothing wrong with them.
Also as to what brand is better, there is no consistency on the brand level. Sadly you really have to research by model. That said, HP has had a few dark horse models in the last couple years. I am not sure ViewSonic reaches into the pro category very often. I could be wrong. They are never on my personal radar.
