Lets do the math here:
299 / 59 = $5.09~ per "design"
Assuming that each designer submitted an equal amount of designs that would amount to approx (299/26)11.5 - oh heck we'll round up to 12 - designs per designer.
At $5.09/design theoretically each designer would be compensated approx. $61.08 for all 12 of their designs.
Ok now lets assume for time here. Let's assume that each design took no less than .5 hrs to complete. So 12*.5 = 6 hrs. This would bring the designers hourly rate ($61.08 / 6) for designs somewhere in the ballpark of an interns compensation at $10/hr.
