My issue with flying has never been about turbulence. I know planes are built for that. Its knowing all the tiny wires build deep down inside the plane that they dont inspect very often since it requires a ton of work to get to them.
There is an absurd amount of wires and systems within a plane. One little problem can take the whole thing down. Thats what bugs me. If I knew they were checking this shit out constantly Id feel a little better but I saw a show on discovery and they can go years without looking at some of the deeper wires.
- so... only fly on newer planes?ebertzjaw
- Luckily the "deeper wires" are not systems critical. It would be stupid to obscure those in any fashion.Jacque
- They're pretty critical if they become frayed and catch fire, which has brought down many passenger planes.CygnusZero4
- "Many." How many exactly?Jacque
