I love flying, always have, and no - I can't understand how blaze people can be about the brilliantly exciting event of accelerating smoothly to 200mph and just stepping into the air, up up up at a crazy angle, like stairs, to the next level, where a levelling off causes you to think you're falling, then banking round, seeing the ground out of the window, then the cloud - hope there's nothing in our way, and thence upward into the brilliant blue sky - it's always a good day up there. A timeless glorious permanent destination, it doesn't feel like you're moving, you just wait out the day in this heavenly deep blue wonder with unknown cloud landscapes below you, uncharted, unseen, and the ground or ocean below with all the other people going about their tiny business while you dart briefly above them in a comfy seat, idly watching tv or having a little sleep. Ahh. The best way to travel, ever.
