She should definitely go to Times Square and wander around staring up for a solid hour or so. Once she's done that and her neck is starting to cramp, there's this great restaurant nearby that has amazing deals on pasta and bread sticks. It's a must visit and it's called Olive Garden. Then after 5pm and when everyone's trying to go home, jump into the subway station and go to Grand Central and wander around bumping into commuters for awhile staring up until her neck hurts. Can't miss the Apple Store, it's the only one on the planet. Then when it's really busy, tell her to go to street level and walk directly against the flow of human traffic making your way to a hidden neighborhood midtown gem called Chipotle around 40th and Madison. Great Mexican, arguably the best in town. If she's from California and into fashion, she won't be disappointed. I'm sure her hotel will have a great TV and cable, so she should catch up on TV and get rested for the 8am morning rush-hour touristing. Don't forget to strap on a fanny pack and carry around a map the whole time, looking up. She's got to look up the whole time or she might miss it.
