And I tend to believe him. One of our clients is in the process of rolling out assembly on LED fluorescent tube replacements. It's been an arduous year for them... and production of lighting bulbs / fixtures in the USA is no joke. This company constantly references SWITCH for two reasons - 1) they think they're marketing geniuses 2) they think the product is laughably bad and will never make it to market.
The lighting industry is brutal. No amount of clever / gimmicky marketing can prepare these start-ups for the actual amount of regulation they have to deal with when manufacturing those things.
