@ETM I think the ones creating "little overall new" are the rest of manufacturers, and I'm including PC manufacturers here.
Apple must be doing something right when even MS is starting to release hardware (Surface) and pissing off its OEMs due to it. Just Google what the CEO of Acer is saying lately. Google is also starting to take control of the hardware side. Suddenly developing just the software isn't enough, they are following Apple's steps.
People tend to forget how big was the iPhone disruption, like I said in my previous post the best thing that came out of it was that a company had the balls to release the device they wanted without the phone companies having a say on it. Google couldn't even do it with Android and that's why there are so many Android devices that get abandoned on old versions because the ones controlling the updates are the phone companies.

- Android 4.x is great. Win phone tries somethings new. As innovative as Apple, hells no!ETM
- But unfair to say no one is being innovative. But yes, they ARE riding the current wave set by Apple.ETM
- Let's also remember Apple only got their carrier deal because AT&T was in the shits at the time. Good deal for AT&T in the end.ETM
