i find creative types work best when you stand over their shoulders the whole time, constantly giving criticism and occasionally grabbing the mouse to demonstrate what you mean.
this type of "hands on" approach is usually made more effective if you refer to the creative as "champ" or "bud", or if you are lucky enough to have a female working for you, "darling", "sweetie" or the classic "sugar tits" are always good options.
It is important also to smoke heavily and drink coffee during your frequent breaks, the strong aroma on your breath helps motivate your creative.
Always tell them that whatever they are working on, just isnt working for you, even when it is. The constant pressure to impress you will push them to create better work, and develop a deeper respect for your input. In the end, revert back to their second idea..
this demonstrates a trust in their work and a flexibility on your behalf as a manager.- also pointing at things on the screen with your fingers is good, but better if you are eating corn chips at the timeautoflavour
