    @CanHasQBN I don't know what provider you have, but here I have two NBC channels in HD. The one on the lower # usually shows pre-recorded shit, while the 2nd one is streaming live events. Check your listings...

    Also, there's an ipad/iphone app that I'm using that I've been able to stream lots of events live. They made me sign in with my comcast billing account, but after that it's been smooth sailing.
