For $99, its worth having even if its simply a dedicated emulator box for SNES/NES/etc. Add in some media player functonality and now it's silly useful. Whatever app store, etc they figure out is all incidental to me, as it basically fills some needs for me without ever even connecting it to the internet..

Personally, im not really even concerned if they have a market that takes off or if developers get behind it. I think the fact that it's an open system, its more like a nice toy to me - like id get more fun out of tinkering with it to see what I can get it to do, what I can develop for it, or what I can get to run on it than I would have actually sitting down to play games on it anyway.

The key to a guy like me is that it's open. That means it should have decent homebrew support, and that kinda stuff is just fun to fuck around with.

Sure I can connect a computer up to the TV that does the same thing.. but the point is now I dont have to, I dont have to put a computer together, find a controller i like, make it look good - this shit is all put together and it looks good and its $99.
