Just a couple clarifications, locust.
1) He obtained the explosives illegally, so he was a criminal at that point.
2) Assault rifles are defined by being fully-automatic weapons. He had an assault weapon. What is an assault weapon other than a politically-loaded term? In this case it's an AR-15 chambered in .223, which is a semi-automatic, scary-looking, less accurate version of this: http://www.gunlistings.org/ohio-…
3) The re-fire rate of the AR-15 and the Glocks he was carrying are identical.
4) The .40 rounds are far more lethal than the .223 rounds.
- my point about putting restrictions in place, while not a cure all, will reduce some amount of gun deathslocustsloth
- to say that it will have no effect is as foolish as saying it will solve the problemlocustsloth
- but thanks for your clarificationslocustsloth
- I've bought guns when there was a waiting period; I've bought them without. No sweat to me.melq
- The fact that everyone's worked up about the AR-15 and wants to go back to the AWB is silly to me, is all.melq
