    Yeah the past players suffering for this is definitely going to be a big debate. I think the issue with the death penalty, and the NCAA heads said this at the conference, is that is not harsh enough, and they said they would have piled other penalties on top of that.

    1 year without a football program really is not that severe of a punishment, so the NCAA felt that they had to punish them for all those years they covered it up, 1998-2011.

    Yes innocent players will now suffer from this but I guess the NCAA saw no way around this. They really want to make sure noone ever does this again, and a 1 year death penalty would not actually damage any school all that much. I think the NCAA actually purposely wanted to damage the school it self for this, and I guess there was no way for them to really do that without the players also suffering from it.

    • 4 year bowl ban will discourage any player. will be hard to recruit "pro" talent. took SMU 20 yrs to recover as well.robotron3k
