Attended a most memorable funeral today.
The departed man's daughter was sick in bed for a week so had an opportunity to write a remarkable and touching eulogy that even had the celebrant choked.
His best mate threw away his prepared anecdotal speech to come up with a brillant impromptu summary of the meaning of his life.
Then his grandson pulled off a perfect acoustic rendition of 'Old Man' by Neil Young that got tears flowing and had the attendees singing along... first time I had seen his son cry in the 15 years I've known him.- i've been to two too many funerals in the last couple years. sobering... also an indication of my mortality and "getting older".sine

- anyway, i've been thinking about my dad's inevitable death (having seen him deal with the passing of his)...sine
- ... and it scares me immensely.sine
- I let those thoughts pass as quickly as they appear.ali
