    Living in SF I've been working on a kit for a while now. Have the essentials, emergency radio/flashlight, glow sticks, spam, waterfilters, fire starter, bug out pack...
    In terms of tools and weapons I'm opting for a machete (Ontario makes some decent machetes for $30 - on amazon) and I'm also considering a baretta.
    I also recommend stocking up on items such as toilet wipes, seeds, alcohol... stuff that can be traded if necessary.
    We have different plans on what to do if the shit hits the fan here in the yay area. Probably going to send the lady down to the folks while I bunker up at home to protect my TV and PS3...
