why is everyone questioning the science of a science fiction movie?

unless it's a documentary, i always assume a movie does not take place in this universe. they make decisions and take actions that seem abnormal in the universe we know, but seem perfectly normal for the characters in that universe.

who would want to watch the version of prometheus where they:

    -SPOILERS-

    • debate whether or not the cave paintings are an invation?
    • they wait for every conceivable bit of information before they start touching things
    • the characters voices are muffled and faces are hard to see through their space helmets
    • they find a door they can open, but don't. because they don't know what's on the other side
    • they can bring a head back to life, but decide not to
    • they can wake up an engineer, but don't cause their scared.

^ that sounds like a lame movie.

    • Kind of agree, but some of the decisions were obviously stupid. So many people sighing in the theatrebiusness
