i thought it was just the ship shaped like that... everything else was huge and maze-like...looking at the probe's scans on the ship. also the truck and buggies were still outside. i would assume they would've taken at least one buggy to ride back to the ship.
i don't think weyland wanted them dead per say as he had no idea what the outcome would be. but lets say david informed weyland about the specimen.. why not just run tests on the thing? why assume it can be used that way.
- This just seemed like a cheap plot-trick to get the story moving. How do you get lost and not radio back or watevabiusness
