So many bands supposed to "save rock and roll" lately I can't even count them... Rock will be alive as long as people listens to good rock music, past or present. Saviors are for tourists. There are tons of great rock bands out there, the other day I saw a couple in a small gig at a small place. Fucking great gig. But no Slash, so they won't get any media attention. Thx God R'N'R will survive you all, fashion victims ;) It's still survived people like you, who pissed on their pants at the "great white hopes" that have been.
