so, this title is being remade twice. once by 2k (called XCOM) in which the game is butchered into a 1st person shooter and the other by Firaxis (called XCOM: Enemy Unknown). The one im excited about is the later. (Firaxis, Sid Meier's company of Civilization sires fame)
The original came out in the early 90's called UFO: Enemy Unknown. This title blew my mind and i have been hooked ever since. You play leader of an elite global task force aimed to mediate the pesky alien abduction problem that has sparked global governments to funded said squad codenamed; XCOM. Each solder has their perks, personality and weaknesses. anything can happen, cars can blow up, squad members can freak out and cities can be attacked. Completely destructible environments, balance forces and keep on eye on your budget , mind you this was all back in the 90s. In an open play environment where your actions determine your founding, success or demise. XCOM is the only defense from global alien takeover.
im sooo happy to see Firaxis take this title. Ive put hundreds and hundreds of hours in the the original which can still be played to this day. anyway. look out for it. ill leave you'all with some media of the original and recreated.
