    There's nothing wrong with 'nuclear', it's just the inefficient 'borderline post-Victorian' usage of refined materials to boil water, leaving the bulk of energy unused along with a slagpile of highly noxious detritus that's the problem.

    if it weren't for that whole Cold War thing, sense might've prevailed and the tech would've stayed gestating in labs for the additional 100 years before it reaches a practical maturation.

    • It's worth keeping in mind the current nuclear fuel cycle was chosen specifically for its weapon potential over safety.animatedgif
