I use Tidy Up.
It's great. Best software I have tried for this kinda of things.
You can specify the file format you want or just go with all the files within a certain folder or hard drive or even external hard drives.
It does a great job coz it looks at dates, file sizes, file names, etc... So if you got 2 files with completely different names and different dates... tidy up will find them.
You can also be precise with searches on itunes, photos/images. It also finds empty folders, email attachments.
And... once the search is done it groups the duplicates and shows you a preview of each file and the location, and you know you are really deleting the duplicate.
