I have to agree. I have tried it and really didn't get any results. i met some neat people, but I found out quickly that I wasn't generic enough to attract anyone other than odd balls.
What have I gained through the experience? People have a different tone in their voice than they do in text. For some, this can be an advantage or a disadvantage. Sadly, i am the latter.
I propose the we make a seperate online dating community for the geek/freak poplulation. The internet was our stomping ground once, then "the normals" came in an put us on reservations. Let them sit and sip Cosmos in their fuzzy sphere of contentment while we party our asses off in the streets.
I think now you can understand why i wasn't very popular in the online dating community :-)
