They tell you this, just like with my 7 years of architecture never teaching much practical things, because it is a round-n-round cycle that keeps U's and teachers employed.
If everyone stopped "dreaming", they wouldn't have jobs for teachers and U's would lose billions in tuition.
It is good business (for them), to make everything look rosy and avoid details, like how to run a business, etc.
