I joined Facebook around 2003 or so when it picked up in popularity in college. I was on that shit until about 6-8 months ago when I decided enough was enough. It got to the point where I would sit down at my browser, open a new window, and even if I wasn't going to Facebook, I would instinctually start typing www.faceboo..... I realized I had become subliminally addicted to something that I didn't get anything out of, or really use that much to be honest. I purged my account and have not looked back. People often use the excuse, "Well, I use it to keep in contact with people I haven't talked to in a while." If you haven't talked to them in a while, how exactly are you keeping in touch with them? I also hear people say, "I'm too bored without Facebook," and that's just sad.

I support the message of this poster wholeheartedly:

    • I do use Twitter, but lately I've been considering getting rid of that too.dMullins
