    Hey domacle, welcome to the hood! I also live in Canonbury.
    I can't add much to the above list of pubs. I agree that Le Mercury is great for cheap good food. Slim Jim's isn't great. Good pubs are the Alwyne Castle, The New Rose, The Angelic, the Grand Union and The Albion.

    In terms of heading out for a dance, Angel is more of a "sit down sipping beers" place than a place to get your dance on. For that it's usually best to head to Shoreditch. But the best for that in Angel would be upstairs at the Old Queens Head. Just get there early to avoid queuing, it gets busy.

    I gave your mix a listen, I like it. I'm a bit of a bedroom-DJ too. If you fancy meeting up for some local beers drop me an email.
