  For listening purposes, anything will do. I'd probably just grab a pair of berhinger thruth's or something cheap. Tbh, I'd probably just buy a set of hi-fi's. For making music, learning the monitor is the most essential part.

  I have samson rubicon 8a's and my mixes turn out fine. That's after a few years of listening to them though. When I first bought them, my mixes were so bass heavy it sounded horrible on every other system.
