PD Orta is fucking gorgeous, although ludicriously hard and I don't know if I wanna invest that much time, but yet I wanna see more...this game better have some cheats in it somewhere.
As for it being boring, in the sense that you have to do it "the game's way", then yeah (we've been spoiled by GTA and its ilk), but that's the trade-off for now: if it's "on the rails" the developers can estimate how much processor power will be needed for any given time based on what they put there and maximize it. On something more open-ended, the goemetry has to be kept to a minimum since the enviorment can't be controlled and be able to accept practically any senarieo. A few more years and we'll have the best of both worlds.
