I did a workshop with Armand Mevis in college, he definitely knows whats up with design. Not to mention his and/or Mevis & VanDeursen's work is amazing.
I'd imagine you're in a studio with your classmates where you do pretty much whatever you want, and then get together with your professors a couple times a week to talk about it for a long time.
