Ron Paul Signed Off On Racist Newsletters

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/po…

A person involved in Paul’s businesses, who spoke on condition of anonymity to avoid criticizing a former employer, said Paul and his associates decided in the late 1980s to try to increase sales by making the newsletters more provocative. They discussed adding controversial material, including racial statements, to help the business, the person said.

“It was playing on a growing racial tension, economic tension, fear of government,’’ said the person, who supports Paul’s economic policies but is not backing him for president. “I’m not saying Ron believed this stuff. It was good copy. Ron Paul is a shrewd businessman.’’

    • seems out of character. perhaps one of those long days where u just sign shit and others make up reasons for your actions
      ********
    • Id be mor einterested if the guy who said it mentioned particular meeting discussing the positive aspects of such tactics with ron paul. But seems mostly of opinions on motives of somethign that happened
      ********
    • tactics but seems mostly opinions on such things that happened
      ********
    • If you read the whole article, it's really hard to believe he didn't know what was going onukit2
    • Despite "deathboy's" shilling, I've been waiting for this acknowledgement. Glad someone's stepping forward.waterhouse
    • its called painting a picture. it inferred a lot with opinions and was leading. its very out of character on all on his other actions
      ********
    • actions. and relies heavily on indirect context. Im assuming a puff piece by a good media hound who knows how to toe the lines
      ********
    • the lines
      ********
    • like an example. they claim it he was in debt, than alluded it was for money becuase than he somehow got out of it. without a direct connection
      ********
    • a drirect connection. It seems like grade A smear. But hey i might be wrong. just my take on the info.
      ********
    • And as far as he was in charge and read everything as knowing. i know how easy it is to sneak somethign by superiors for my interests
      ********
    • to serve my interests. very easy in fact. which goes back to character and why this single instantance
      ********
    • but of course you have to be able to fill in the blanks between the lines youre sold.
      ********
    • Cmon now, his daughter and wife worked for the newsletter, and he didn't know what was in it?ukit2
    • I like some of the stuff Ron Paul has to say, but he is lying when he says he doesn't know about the newsletters or who wrote them.ukit2
    • something seems off. his other actions dont match. if it was true and a plan to make money this one time than he seems to have seen the error
      ********
    • seen the error sinc ehe hasnt repeated it since the 80s.. just doesnt seem to fit the bill
      ********
    • what can i say i dont know. but if this is the worse and is accurate since sthe 80s id say it look better than the rest
      ********
    • especially since it isnt pushing law and only passing personal opinion. but just doesnt add up
      ********
    • maybe id nee to see how much money is involved in a racist newsletter. if he sold himself for a buck he wouldnt say what he says
      ********
    • says. u know what im saying? it doesnt fit. i could see the other candidates saying whatever for a buck or vote, but his past actions says different
      ********
    • actions say different. but be speculative you should. everyone should
      ********
    • i like ron paul but i know for sure id be one of his hardest critics probaly pissed off the whole time if he was elected.
      ********
    • i dont think a single man can change the country. not the way the system was built. so im not being a fanboy here
      ********
    • just something on my radar says is off a bit. of course its raises an eyebrow an mental note to see if i can see other hints at
      ********
    • hints at it
      ********
    • i think id like him take the responsibility. these letter came from my office, i dint know but go ahead and blame me thing. im not a fan of the politicing on it
      ********
    • not a big fan of the political dodges and that stuff. its a shame that (as i see it) an innocent guy should play the game
      ********
    • game. much like i had no issue with clinton and lewinsky, but was apalled by the need for denial.
      ********
    • but than again i personally only appreciate honesty and straight forward intentions. regardless of how i feel about them
      ********
    • them. i can choose to easily agree to disagree especially if its their individual choices without some sort of social fraud
      ********
    • fraud
      ********
    • wow...
