any of you have a pair of these 'barefoot' shoes?

I'm really tempted given the amount of walking / climbing I've been doing. As I go up some of the rockier trails on some of the local mountains I've seen numerous folks wearing them (usually the ones moving at a faster pace / there for exercise). I stopped one of them at the top the other day and asked about their shoes (they had the Vibram Five-Fingers). The guy and his wife absolutely swore by them... that their foot / leg / knee pain subsided dramatically when hiking / running in these...

... anyone have them? Any thoughts?

    • I've never tried either, but I'm a total believer in these things relieving pain, from a physiological point of view.CanHasQBN
    • I hear great things from smart people about them. removing a massive shock absorber on the heel forces you to treadHombre_Lobo
    • more carefully, slowly teaching you to walk / run properly.Hombre_Lobo
