I really dunno, I keep switching choice between the GX1 and Nex 5n.

Sony is thin and with a16mm lens is very discreet and pocketable.
GX1 is a bit more noticable with x-lens when camera is turned on - so less discreet.

Both are good to hold and use and have the types of features/spec that i'm looking for. GX1 obviously has more lenses but the Sony with twin lens kit (16mm and zoom) plus fisheye + ultra wide adaptor is a killer setup for about £800 if you ask me.
To do the same with the GX1 would cost a lot more.

It may end up coming down to which comes into the country first depending on how patient I can be.
Sony (and I think Panasonic) lost factories in the tsunami so are well behind in demand. Guy at Sony shop today said it'd be the end of February before they get any more in. Sony shops will also match offers anyone else has got on btw - worth remembering to haggle and see who can do the best deal ;)

    • The Sony factory was under 9ft of water in Thailand.ebertzjaw
    • Get the GRD4, btw.ebertzjaw
    • GRD4 = No zoom capabilities (neither zoom or tele lens)23kon
    • plus sensor is 1/3 of the size and less MP. Spec of the GRD4 isnt much better than my GX10023kon
    • Fair point, but the GRD4 is discrete and has low shutter lag.ebertzjaw
    • Zoom capabilities shouldnt be a priority with street photography. ymmv.ebertzjaw
    • yeah but i dont just use cam for street. also general/touristy where zoom is a necessity23kon
    • i do love my GX100 for the small size n discreetness.23kon
    • I'm tempted by the fuji x pro1. There's a 14mm f1.4 planned tor later in the year.ebertzjaw
