    Provocative. Though I wonder if it will sway things as much Gingrich would like.

    I would argue that there are two types of presidential candidates:
    Those for whom the presidency is a birthright (Bush, Gore, Kerry)
    And those who reach the nomination on improbable odds (Clinton, Reagan, Nixon)

    I just don't think most of the electorate cares if the nominees are "rich douchebags" or not. That's just not the criteria a typical voter considers. In fact, we accept that our candidates - who strive for a job the rest of us would never want - are in some way more exceptional than ourselves (albeit plainly human often times).

    The thought of an individual gutting a company for profit is likely to make one feel queasy. However, as a practiced politician, Romney has been long poised to spin the record of Bain Capital to his advantage. This may be a misfire for Gingrich.
