    so much disinformation and nonsense.

Good thing you can do this in HTML5.. oh wait!

Flash's only issue is that it was so approachable that it was abused. Something that will happen with HTML5 as well. If people think that annoying banner ads or CPU killing websites won't be the case, think again.

HTML5 stuff kills browsers, has far higher CPU utilization for any animation/interactive work, canvas has just HORRIFIC usability and accessibility (as in none) and so many other problems.

HTML5 is great because it moves web beyond the pathetic state it was in before in many cases can in fact replace Flash for the simplest things we needed it for but you are absolutely right rson, the reason why web is getting duller and duller is because technically you are very limited what you can do with HTML5/CSS/JS so most sites look really the same.

The only real example of "cool" stuff is webGL which is really not even a spec of HTML5 and is not even adopted properly by many browsers as well as hardware and is on the level of Flash from few years ago and has security flaws (especially with cross-domain stuff and textures). This is why Microsoft won't support WebGL. Not to mention, people did those things with Papervision3D everyone is "blown away" by.

The thing is though that Flash will still be the solution for high end immersive experiences. I just saw this the other day and was blown away.

but where Flash is blowing up is 3D, amazing games and so on. And it's not necessarily a bad thing. Somebody told me that they ported a full Unreal 3D engine into Flash.

I guess informative websites that have a lot of content and text should be done in HTML5 but the biggest obstacle with HTML5/JS/CSS is so many cooks in the kitchen and different levels of support by browsers that I don't see it really getting really fully supported and effective years from now and this is also one of the reasons why everything is so dull. You are extremely limited in what you can do and where it will work. For example, none of that WebGL stuff even works on mobile.
