    i often wonder if taking the "career" out of "career politician" would help things. As in forcing politicians out of a given position after 4 or 6 years, somewhat like the presidency. It seems the longer that people are in Congress, the more they know how to game the system, the more potential for corruption. Maybe knowing that they only have X amount of years to get done what they want will motivate them to work faster and more efficiently.
    clearly there are problems with this theory, but i think that if serving in congress was thought more of as a civic duty than a career choice, we MAY end up with better members.

    • The obvious rub is that any change to the nature of our governance would have to be approved by those it would negatively effect. ie "Not gonna happen"locustsloth
