He's an inspired designer who has found a way to live the way he likes...how could you fault him that? I personally like the way he thinks and he also seems to be a pretty nice guy. Years ago I was burnt out, thinking of quitting design and read one of his books. He put his email addy in the book so, on a whim, I emailed him a brief email thanking him for the book and how it was helping me re-group. He emailed me back within an hour with a little pep talk. I'll never forget that.
And I'm pretty sure if I decided that within 5 years it was absolutely imperative to take a year off, I could probably adjust my life to make that happen. It's all about priorities and choices.
