I've noticed that most of Sagmeister's detractors are either doing work of a lesser quality than his, or they don't show their work at all (however good or bad it may be). This tells me that many complaints about his "fame" in our little industry are driven by insecurity and jealousy.
Not everything he does is my cup of tea, personally. But I think he's brilliant in general, and he's shown a lot of courage in the way he's run his business.
