The gun rap is simply business. There is no, zero, zippo, logical argument for owning a gun (for anything but hunting and killing). People hold to some ideological (and shallow and naive) notion that if they own a gun, they control their destiny. It is a ego/pride/'mine-is-bigger-than-y... mentality.
That's not even touching concealment! That is the most ludicrous reasoning anywhere. If you want to get a permit, get one, but these crazy, CRAZY ideas of allowing anyone to carry one is just absurd. Shit, I'll carry one just to have a dying chance against some of the nut jobs that think they'll protect their "families". CRAZY!!
All that said, I do love guns and own one. I am not for hunting (vegetarian here), but I can respect your choice to do that. BUT if they outlawed all guns I would be happy (as long as they searched and prosecuted for illegal arms, which are the real problem).
