hey lilbabyarm, i don't think you know what you're talking about.

there have been paid pros in skateboarding for decades. so the point about kids not needing 'the pressure of being pro athletes' seems a bit late.

as for it being 'a great passtime for kids'. pick up any magazine, go to any skatepark in the country and you'll see people in their mid-20s and older skateboarding.

and the 'by the looks of this bullshit they got it wrong once more'. it's clear from the chocolate/zoo york/supreme graphics on the shoes and people like danny supa and gino on the team, they've got all the industry credibility they need.

i've been skateboarding for about 15 years on and off, and I'd buy a pair of those dunks. if you know anything about the industry you'll know that most of the other shoe companies out there are just wannabe nikes anyway. even skate shoe companies that started off looking altruistic sponsor linkin park and fred durst now.

all this looks like is nike basically calling them on it.

and whoever said "if nike's marketing people ever figure it out you will see skate teams and coaches yeech"

    were you being ironic?

there have been skate teams for decades too, and still are. sure they don't have coaches, but they all have team managers - even your local skate shop probably has a team.

as for the site, yeah it's not amazing, but as for nike's place in the industry, they've been here for a few years now and their 'market share' will continue to just grow and grow.
