  They only follow the comics loosely, it's entirely possible they will never get into where he's from, or they could even make him from someone else if they want.

  Seems like they like to keep some mystery there with the deeper details. Do we really need to know where he's from in this movie? If there's no story reason for us to know, then no point getting into it, which would allow them to give him any accent they want.
