Munich is one of the more expensive towns in Germany (compared to Berlin for example). For a 2 rooms 50 – 60m² flat you maybe pay about 700 – 1200 Euros.
Housing scene is a bit delicate at the moment especially in the low price range, but if you have a well paid job it shouldn‘t be a big deal.

Many people in Germany live in shared flats, if you can deal with that you might get a big room in a nice flat and get to know some local people right away plus you have all the living infrastructure (internet, washing machine).

Have a look around here to get an idea about housing prices:

A popular quarter among "young creatives" is Isarvorstadt around Gärtnerplatz.

A 0,5 Augustiner beer is about 3,50, a "Maß" (one litre) is about 7,00. That‘s all you need to know.

Good luck, living quality in Munich is certainly good, and if you need to get away from the city you can go skiing in the Alps which are only about a one hour ride away.
