Some good restaurants downtown (they call it uptown). There's a good Thai place, can't remember the name but it's across the street from a really lame "Scottish" bar.
Everything in Charlotte was built five minutes ago. You could practically eat off of the streets. Great if you like clean, new stuff and no crime whatsoever. Boring if you're from anywhere with buildings more than five minutes old, or a town that has a personality of any sort.
