Not as much Bible study as you'd think.

BoA and Wells Fargo call Charlotte home for their eastern HQs, so you could definitely occupy some stuff if the malls are too crowded.

Definitely some decent local places here and there in the Dilworth, Elizabeth and NoDa (North Davidson) areas.

Head over to Asheville. It's a long day trip (about 2 hours each way), but you can't go wrong with the NC mountains assuming the weather's fine.

Head over to Seagrove (another long drive). It's in the middle of nowhere, but it's home to some of the best local potters in the country.

Do the NASCAR thing. Yeah, I know, but you work with what you have.

Head north toward Lexington for some decent BBQ, further north ti High Point for some decent furniture galleries.

Head south toward Gaffney for all things peaches and outlet shopping. The drive to Gaffney is long, but if you're needing a photo of a water tower shaped like a peach (or an ass depending on your point-of-view) you'll be set.

Unless you can spend the night, don't attempt Atlanta as a day trip. You'll think you can do it in one day...you shouldn't.

Hope you enjoy your time in the Carolinas.

    • Thanks - I'll do my best. I used to live in Boone (mountains) when I was a kid - really beautiful, but been in NYC for loooong time now so we'll see how it is.antimotion
    • that sir is the most depressing QBN post I've ever read.ThePublics
    • It's more depressing if you choose to be disappointed with your surroundings and pout...hellobotto
    • ...rather than take advantage of the time to seek out and celebrate the worthwhile and offbeat.hellobotto
    • I know that sounds Hallmark card, but it's Charlotte. You have to work with what you're dealt.hellobotto
