i remember the very first day i heard the word "dopepope" i was in Q Studios with dp and jj and dp got this super huge shipment of t-shirts and jj was running around the studio making fart noises and laughing at the x-x-x-x-x large size of the shirts..
it was my first time seeing it all, perhaps dp told me countless times that he was going to be a t-shirt designer [1991 -ish when he said it] and then in 1999 or 2001 or something.. we are in Q studios.. and those boxes came in..
and im standing there looking wondering what the hell are all these things.. and JJ says its "his new thang" he is dopepope.
and im like whaaa??? and jj is like FAAAAARRRRRRT!!!!
and dp then says i got small sizes this one should fit you.. it was a DOPEPOPE 5000 MILLIGRAMS tee that became my "uniform"
i wore it like everyday for about 11 years..
i still have one of them, i was drunk one day and puked all over my original dp tee and i was so disgusted by the moment that i sold it for $3 at a thrift store in the lower east side..
ive known dp for 20 years..
he is born the day before me.. his birthday is my pre-party and my bday is his after party..
we met near in the locker area for illustration majors in the early 90s.. and i look to him as my greatest and bestest friend including jj who also means the world to me.
the rest of you.. well you are like short wave radio compared to full on streaming DOPEPOPE!!!
