  A few years ago I wanted to buy a fancy watch so I dropped 25, 50 or 100 into a Amex savings account. Every time I had an extra 100 bucks in my checking account I dropped it into the account and very quickly i had the money. I have repeated this process for Vacations, Furniture, etc.

  You would be surprised at how fast a few hundred bucks disappears from your account when it is left there, and how it is hardly missed when it is moved to a different account .
