    It doesn't make much sense to refuse to close the bugdet deficit when you know there's going to be interest on that new debt, close that gap immediately and deal with reducing government spending after.

    It takes time to reduce government intelligently, I don't see how it could be done in a few months. It took almost a decade to clean up the Canadian government but it started by raising taxes and forcing banks to stop gambling with people's savings... which totally saved our asses in 2008.
