You're pipe token thinking the iPad 1 is on par with the 2 - Have you used both?
Don't have buyers remorse, there's a big bump in performance with the 2 and any iOS developer will tell you that. Plus lighter, sexier & battery life was extended. If these things are unimportant then I guess it's on par.
