I somewhat hastily ordered a new one this after dealing with several issues on my old one for weeks. Turned out it was probably just a permissions issue with my external drives. Things have been working fine since Tuesday...
But I already ordered a new one out of fear that current one was about to crash. Wanted a refurb, but decided on a 128GB SSD, and they just didn't have the combo of that and matte screen. So, bought a new one.
I sort of feel guilty about it. I was supposed to get paid from a friend for work I'm about to do for him, and this was going to be paid with up-front money to get going. But he's flaked on that for a while until things really get going. My lady and I are in the middle of a home renovation, so dropping $2K on a computer kind of sucks, but I am financing it.
Part of me feels like sending it back as soon as I get it in the mail. But the other part of me knows I'll get a chunk of money from freelance to pay it off, and the performance over my 2007 MBP will completely rule, especially as I'm hoping to record a lot more music this winter.
What would you do?
