    Well in some Muslim countries if you steal they cut off your hand.

    I'm assuming even the strongest advocates of the death penalty here would never suggest doing that.

    But ultimately isn't execution more barbaric? Personally I'd rather be missing a hand than be dead. I guess death is cleaner and easier to forget about.
