  It looks like it's designed for boredom browsing. - "I'm here, but I don't quite know why?"

  When I use bbc, I already know which section I want (news, sport, food etc.), so I just need to hit the section buttons, job done.

  By having this monster scroll-fest, I guess they are aiming to show users that there are other things availble which they don't normaly visit?
